Riding Lawn Mower

There are a lot of brands of riding lawn mowers. This article will make it easy for you because we will show you what brands will give you the best performance.

John Deere

John Deere is great for property management companies and for large estates. It is a very reliable heavy duty brand. The tractor type models are what we are talking about; not a zero turn mower. The tractor types are a little slower to turn around and get things done, but you can live with that because it is a solid machine that works. For a large estate or a property management company it is a great choice. The price is a little higher than competitors like Sears and ClubCadet, but it is totally worth it.

Toro

Toro, believe it or not, is not the best machine. Toro is great at being a dealer. You can find Toro dealers everywhere and they have great access to parts. The main reason to buy a Toro is for the service you get. Toro riding lawn mowers are mainly for professionals. Homeowners may buy them, but most will think they are too costly and bulky. If you talk to a professional landscaper, you will find that the Toro brand is considered medium quality.

Walker

The Walker mower is a great machine. They are reliable, sturdy, and get the job done well. They are more expensive. They are a fairly small family owned company. The downside is that there aren't going to be local dealers to service the machine.

Professionals that are serious about staying in the business will consider a Walker as one of the top choices.

Bobcat

Bobcat just got into the riding lawn mower business about five years ago. Bobcat is known for making solid heavy duty machinery and giving great customer service. A bobcat riding mower will cost a little more money, but it will also be a good machine and backed up with service.

Zero Turn Mowers

A zero turn mower can turn in a circle with a zero degree radius. In other words, you can turn in a circle on a dime. It makes maneuverability a lot better. For a professional, it is the only way to go. What makes it work are added gears and motors for each wheel. If you compare a John Deere tractor style riding mower with a zero turn mower, you will find the zero turn mower to cost almost double. Do you really need zero turn? If you only mow a couple of lawns, then the answer is no unless the course is impossible to maneuver. People that have a large lawn or property management companies with five or ten houses will most likely find a zero turn mower is not cost effective.
