Toro Lawn MowerToro used to have one good thing going for their lawnmowers and that was the two cycle engine. The two cycle engine could really rev up and cut through tall grass well. However, they have now gone to a four stroke engine that is either Briggs and Stratton or Honda. The Toro lawnmower design is not the best. It is tiresome to hold the handle in all the time to keep the blade going. In addition, the engine can't run without the blade. This is a serious design flaw. This flaw makes the Toro much harder to start over Honda and has a much higher fatigue factor. There is one main benefit of Toro lawn mowers. Toro can cut through tall and wet grass better than Honda. This factor, alone, isn't enough to recommend Toro over Honda. There are other small likeable features of Toro, like the grabber bar on top of the front wheels, that are nice, but you can't really enjoy them after using a Honda. It is so much more difficult to engage the blade, self propel, and turn around and those are the main things the mower is supposed to do. |
